Rain was definitely hit or miss for most of the metroplex. While folks at Gateway Park in Eastern Fort Worth off 30 and Oakland Blvd got ping pong size hail most barely saw any measurable rain. The Saginaw area here got .10 of rain, but driving over to 35W and Golden Triangle it was pouring down.

Hopefully we see some good wide spread soaking rains without the severe part.

But, after these events the NWS needs to do an autopsy explaining what went “wrong.”

They may have been a bit off today in DFW proper but they nailed Friday east and northeast of here

I agree. Just saying it’s helpful I think for the public to hear some science behind how things evolve so they get a greater appreciation for weather.

Made a post before similar, I think we have taken the risks and associate it with certain types of outbreaks. Enhanced was for 10-15% coverage of severe thunderstorms and for large part did happen. Orange highlights doesn't mean outbreak of tornadoes.

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

The main concern was hail, and I don't believe the hatched area will verify for hail. Now, watch today produce more significant hailers than yesterday lol

Yea, the signs are there, and models keep flirting with pulling widespread rain back west across the area. However, as we move up in time, things keep trending towards the default of the last few months, with rain not materializing. I still believe this is a case of models rushing the pattern change, but I did expect April to start wetter than it has...

2.83" of rain yesterday at my house.

I also chased the Stephenville storm, and I'll try to get some pictures posted later when I have time. It was a beautiful storm!

That's awesome; looking forward to the pics. That was a rare supercell with it being isolated with pretty much clear skies around it.

I'll believe it when I see it. But maybe some hope for those of us down south.

I expect most of the rain to be well east of your area.

Couple of cells to the SW of DFW moving NE, but I doubt they hold together long enough. Maybe some good lightning shows for the southern burbs?

Yes of course, but it still looks like SA could see at least an inch which would be awesome for the city. Been a long time.

It was supposed to be in the upper 80’s here today and ended up in the low 80’s instead.
