50 tornado reports so far list on SPC...

The Springfield, Mo cell is looking very good with a very well defined hook.. Looks to pass just south of Springfield. Hope this avoids any populated areas... :(

How ironic that two decent-sized cities named Springfield get hit...

Strong shear coming associated with the TVS on the now Christian county storm - shows a max shear values of 111kts and a base around 1100 feet.

This is from a motorist who called in to a radio station, the interstates IS OPEN, BUT you CAN NOT get off the interstates in the springfield area. Repeat, THE INTERSTATE IS PASSIBLE for folks coming from Quincy to Springfield on I-72, from St. Louis to Chi town on 55, BUT 72 east of springfield, IL IS closed eastbound ONLY due to a grainbin on the interstate.

The hook associated with the Springfield, MO storm has kind of disappeared, but the SRV couplet is still there (for now). Should be weakening, possibly dissapating, by the time it gets near the southern edge of Springfield.

That cell N of Eureka Springs AR has a tvs on it and a classic hook right at the state line. Looks like it could be a big one. I pray I am wrong. It is heading towards Branson.

Another (and final) round of mostly non-tornadic cells. Those storms should be near Sedalia in around an hour, I think. Unfortunately, the one cell that is tornadic is headed in that general direction. Here's the warning for it:

Wow, hadn't looked down that far recently. That's really gotten big over the past ten minutes!

And the Springfield storm is moving through an area about 7 miles south of the town, and the TVS data indicates max shear of 204 kts! That's at least an F2, if not more.

204 knots? That's a strong F3 or weak F4...

tracking has it near hwy 65 and hwy 60 in SE Springfiled right now. This brings back memories from the last time when we couldn't find out about people for a few days.   The reports people are posting make it sound about the same as last time.

I just took a longer look at the Springfiled track. It went right over Monet.
