Oh, isn't there some kind of sports event in College Station on Saturday evening?

Just some orange Tigers coming in... nothing big! :cheesy:

Light rain lasting a little longer here in Leander at my daughter's dance class. A couple loud claps of thunder. Looks like house has gotten some about 15 minutes away to the south. I'll check gauge later.

Over 4 inches of rain at my parent's house on the north side of SA and still pouring. Classic flood event looks to be setting up for the Hill Country tonight.

Much needed heavy rain event for southwest Texas tonight. Some areas are in severe drought down there. So nice to see all of the rain developing on radar!

My brother in San Antonio sent a few texts. He's near airport, on a hill, so no flooding there. But he's getting deluged. It's training over them! Here are some of his texts:

"This is getting ridiculous. It's either drought or flood...no in between. We've gotten 2 inches and still pouring!"

"Pouring still.... high water rescues going on. TWC had mentioned Stone Oak flooding.. 6 inches and still raining"

"Our house needed this rain sooooo badly but.. jeez.."

"Was going to let u know what rain gauge says but too much lightning"

It looks like the best chance for rain will be west of 35. Not too often you can say that.

I have gotten around 0.15 since yesterday, while my family 80 to 100 miles to my south-southwest have received 6 inches or so. :double:
Craziness! The nature of tropical rainstorms.

Yep. San Antonio seems to often be a sweet spot for these kind of rain bombs.

Nature of lift being weak but high moisture content. In the cooler season its the opposite, very strong lift but generally less moist air mass that produces more coverage.

Yeah, just got confirmation from my dad that they got almost 5 inches. My brother 5 to 10 miles east of him got 4.82 inches. My dad said he watered the yard yesterday morning, and got 5 inches last night. I mentioned that should help the watering to soak in.
