As the Vort Max swings through Texas it should break CAP and cause more T'Storm development. Don't think the mCS moving to your North is the main event. Later tonight we should see some storm initation in Central Tx, which should turn into another MCS/Squall Line.

Looks like that next band west of Houston will be able to scrape northern Harris County. This is a significant step southward and I think each round will get closer and closer until we are hit. Already it is quite windy and I can see a few bolts of lightning from the cell to our north.

that cell looks like it is beginning to bow out. It will likely go severe soon and I would expect it to bring (if it holds together) strong winds from Klein north to Conroe..and this is if it stays it's current size. Even if it is not severe, it will likely bring needed rains and a nice lightning show.

Well, that big cell that caused wind damage in Bryan only gave me here in Huntsville a few 50mph wind gusts and some very heavy rain, and then lightning struck nearly directly over me and my car alarm went off.

I'm kinda dissapointed. The warnings were for winds in excess of 70mph. If I could just get one 70mph wind gust I'd be an extremely happy camper.

We've yet to get a drop...I'd be thrilled to get some very heavy rain. And you can have the winds - 70mph gusts likely wouldn't be very friendly to all of the blue roofs around here. We just need rain.

How would you like to have widespread power outages? That's what 70 mph thunderstorm wind gusts can do...

I see the lightning to my north... Quite far though, very few flashes... The local met did mention the storms developing out by the Del Rio area and mentioned that as the low pushes more towards us, the rain and storms will arrive with it just in time for rush hour... She seemed very positive about the storms still making it into the Houston Metro area by the morning rush.... Keep your fingers crossed!!

That storm just out west does not seem to be weakening but rather it is strengthening. This one definately is further south and looks to go severe at any time. I guess I'll wait up for this one to blow through. It looks to be packing a pretty good punch!

Yep, this is a good one! Pretty intense here now with pouring rain and lots on thunder/lightning. I'll post some radar shots when I wake-up for good. :D

Well the line moved through with 40-55mph wind gusts in my area...heavy rain...may be hail (couldn't see because it was dark)...and the most notable item was the INTENSE lightning! What a great storm..and the good thing is I still have power! :D

Weather Station recorded max gust of 44MPH. Visibilty drop to near zero in blowing rain here in League City. So far only .60" but the rainfall rate was 5.54" per hour with the onset of the squall line. Quite intense

It's gotta be hitting you by now...or past.

That was one of the fastest moving storms I've seen in a while. Not too strong or severe here. Just heavy, blowing rain and lots of thunder. All gone in just under 10 minutes.
