And so it begins. Radar starting to reflect, front is through most of DFW with temperatures falling. They will continue to fall until we are in the 40s and stays there. Dust off those jackets and sweaters.

The front came through earlier this afternoon. North wind is howling and it’s currently 45 with a windchill of 38.

Yall might actually be more miserable than it will be in Chicago where i am tomorrow given the rain

A couple of numbers to watch for DFW. The lowest Maxima will be impressive beating the previous records by a mile.

Highs

Monday Forecast: 46F; record lowest "high" 60F
Tuesday forecast; 46F; record lowest "high" 60F

Lows

Monday forecast: 43F; record is 42F
Tuesday forecast: 45F; record is 39F


*note the high for Monday will be whatever occurs around midnight tonight.

Back home in KS it's snowing today. I don't recall snow like this growing up this early. I do recall trick-or-treating in the snow once. Otherwise, I hope this is a harbinger for snow here in DFW. I would build my own snowmaking machine if I wouldn't tick off the neighbors.

yeah saw people talking about snow in Eastern Nebraska on this level being unheard of so early

Update: Wichita broke their record for earliest measurable snow on record by 8 days

42F currently at DFW airport and raining with a strong north wind. Wind chill of 34. That at least ties the daily record low and the temp at midnight was around 50 which is a new lowest high temp for the date.

Cold but nice feeling this morning. 38 when I got up with a wind chill of 29.

Record cold HIGHS down here will be shattered tomorrow, and broken Wednesday. Nice to see cold records broken for a change.

42 degrees, 1 inch of rain since last night (more coming down) and I'm wearing flannels and warm socks. It's a great, cozy, fall day.

Yeah I happen to be off today. Still in my pj's drinking coffee loving this cold air. Feels like January.

Currently 41° in Frisco...wondering if it’ll drop into the 30s briefly.

I'm thinking fireplace tonight to go with MNF..

In addition to all of the other cold records being set, this will also be the earliest date that DFW has had a high below 50 degrees with our high of 49 occurring at Midnight. The old record was October 22nd, and we're likely to repeat below 50 degrees again tomorrow. Crazy!
