Trough forecasted is not looking as impressive on the Euro as prior days, but still there...I guess.
16 100F or higher days so far with at least a week's worth more to go. We are about close to a summer's average of those already and more than the past few summers.
Love also set their all-time record for consecutive days of 110 or more. This was a fairly localized heatwave with only parts of Texas and Ok see the big time heat. It lookz like at least another week of seasonally hot weather before temps moderate closer to avg. It is just hard to get "cooler" days this time of summer without rain.
Now if could just find some record cold in winter lol

Winter time post are almost exclusively focused on the DFW area.
Re: Texas Summer 2018
Indeed it is hard to get cooler without rain. The airport has been rather unlucky. You have to go back to early May for 0.50" or more per event and back to March for 1" or greater.

Ahhh, we hit our first 100 degrees yesterday. Had a nice bike ride in the pleasant weather. It didn't even feel hot. If only it could continue through the winter...

In the last 4 days this area has set 4 new heat records. How did I get so lucky to receive the hottest temps in the US?!

Just trying to liven things up a bit around here. Everyone seems so depressed that it's hot in July. It's supposed to be hot in July - it's JULY! However, it wouldn't be bad to have a bit of rain during the week.

Gee whiz, I knew you would pop in. Ughh. I hate Summer. I just loathe it. I had to work three days in it ( From 1 pm to 3 pm, Friday-Sunday..I am a Swim Ref For Gulf Swimming and my kid was there swimming.) My hat is off to all those who have to work in this. Gracious. I am hearing rumblings that August will be different.

The thing is, yes it is July...definitely a no-brainer that is going to be hot here, but, we also had July temps back in May around here. In fact, our local weatherman Jim Spencer commented, back in May, that the temps we had were more like July than May.
I think some of us would prefer having July temps...in one month (JULY), and getting a break that doesn't involve leaving the state to find less hotness.

108 at Camp Mabry and 106 at the airport at 3 pm. Hell, at this point we might as well try and beat the all-time high of 112.

Re: Texas Summer 2018
What's this I see for early next week? Colder than normal temps here as a significant cold front drops south through the eastern U.S. Well, "colder than normal" means low 90s vs. upper 90s. I suppose I will survive.

You know sir, if you could add dewpoints in the mid 60's with low 90's, you got yourself a deal.

I don't care much about dewpoints. You can have your low-mid 60s dewpoints next week:
