I made this map showing significant tornadoes across the United States from January 1, 2000 until now.

Light pink = tornadoes less than F3/EF3 that killed someone.
Red = tornado F3/EF3-F5/EF5
Yellow = two tornadoes F3/EF3-F5/EF5
Purple = three tornadoes F3/EF3-F5/EF5
Black = four tornadoes F3/EF3-F5/EF5.... the only county shaded in black is Conway County, Arkansas.

Pretty interesting, imo.

Nice map!

Tornadoes this year way over averages, see http://www.spc.noaa.gov/climo/torn/monthlytornstats.pdf

And so many states involved. For 2008 through May, 34 states reported 1324 tornadoes, with 595 (not a final number) in May alone. Here's the current rank YTD by state:
KS 134, MO 116, MS 109, GA 90, AR 89, AL 85, IA 80, TX 78, TN 69, LA 53, FL 43, KY 40, NC 40, SC 40, OK 37, VA 37, IL 32, NE 28, WY 23, CO 18, IN 13, SD 13, OH 11, WI 9, MN 7, WA 7, CA 4, MD 4, NM 4, ND 4, MI 2, MT 2, WV 2, NY 1
