At 6:20 pm CDT or 7:20 pm ET, the first confirmed F5 tornado in Canadian history tore through and around Elie Manitoba. It caused 0 deaths and $1 million in damages. The tornado lasted 40 minutes. It was not a wedge but more of a drill press type.

Here's the video where F5 damage is occurring. (Whole houses picked up and exploding in mid-air; Truck flung a long distance)

Thats utterly amazing footage there, the fact that the tornado was also fairly small by some comprasions gave us such a good insight into the tight inner core of the tornado where the strongest winds are, the way it lifts that house clean off is really stunning.

A very fascinating tornado, and proof that you don't need a wedge to produce EF5 damage.

From the looks of it, the winds were probably around 210 mph (using the EF scale to make the estimates, although the damage was definitely EF5 as well).
