Southern Plains Weather Thread

I feel like my area of the country is kind of left out when it comes to discussing local weather on a day to day basis. Because of this, I have decided to start the "Southern Plains Weather Thread". The area this thread will cover includes places from Dallas northward, east of the continental divide, west of the Mississippi, and south of Nebraska. This means places such as: Extreme north TX, OK, KS, MO and AR.

The weather in central Oklahoma is beautiful today!
We started the day near 52˚ here on the south end of OKC, and the temperature right now is hovering near 73˚ with mostly sunny skies and a gentle north breeze. What is so exciting is that this weather is expected to continue for many days. Highs in the mid 70s to low 80s with lows in the 50s to low 60s are expected to remain with us through the weekend.

I'm really looking forward to next week's front. Temperatures have warmed back into the 80s for highs here with lows in the 60s, so the transition back to highs in the mid 70s and lows in the 50s will be very nice. Just 5-6 days to go until the front arrives..

It has been a windy day in central Oklahoma today! According to the Oklahoma Mesonet, the highest gusts in the OKC metro area include a 41mph gust in Norman, a 50mph gust in Minco, and a 41mph gust in downtown OKC. I can't believe a wind advisory was never issued!

Wow - what an early spring weather map today in the S. Great Plains.
A winter storm watch up in the Texas Panhandle and NW Oklahoma and a Severe T-Storm watch up now in parts of N/C Texas. A few warnings as well east and south of Abilene.

Heh....that SVR TS Warning in Parker County made me check the NWS Radar again....apparently my location is surrounded by rain on the south, east, west, and north!
....Apparently this weather managed to envelop northwestern Grayson County without even a drop touching the pavement where I am.
Kinda like being in the eye of a hurricane that popped out of nowhere. Regardless, big dark clouds in every direction and I assume the rain will roll in from the west in a matter of minutes. Just interesting to see on radar for the time being....
Also, looks like DFW Office is going to punt the football:
