The one waterspout I saw out in the Gulf, South of Cameron, was a lot skinnier than that, and the parent cloud was just a towering cumulus.

That looks more like a true tornado that just happened to be over water, but I'm no expert.

Yeah, that is one big waterspout! I'll bet people were praying that it wasn't going to be crossing over to land. :eek:

Awesome pics....my grandmother lives very close to there...off west esplanade near lakeside mall....i'll have to give her a call and see if she caught a glimpse!
