This past week, on 10/05, Key West set a new all-time record high minimum temperature for the entire month of October with a low of only 84 degrees....

...RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE SET AT KEY WEST...

THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE AT THE KEY WEST INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ON
MONDAY OCTOBER FIFTH WAS 84 DEGREES. THIS SURPASSED THE PREVIOUS
RECORD HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 82 DEGREES FOR THIS DATE...WHICH
OCCURRED IN 2003. THIS ALSO EXCEEDS THE ALL TIME RECORD HIGH MINIMUM
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER...WHICH WAS 83 DEGREES THAT
OCCURRED ON OCTOBER SECOND 2002...OCTOBER THIRD 1991...AND OCTOBER
EIGHTEENTH 2007.

What is remarkable is that since setting the new record high minimum for the entire month of October on 10/5, Key West has gone on to tie that new record on 4 other nights.....10/6, 10/7, 10/9, and 10/10! 5 nights in the past week have bottomed out at the new record high minimum for the entire month of October of 84 deg!

AT 235 PM THIS AFTERNOON, THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 92 DEGREES AT
MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THIS BREAKS THE HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD
FOR TODAY OF 91 DEGREES WHICH WAS LAST SET ON THIS DATE IN 1992.

**The cold front has now moved through South Florida, putting an end to the record heat. Temperatures have fallen from 92F to 82F in just 3 or 4 hours this afternoon.
Just to put into perspective, today's 92 degree temp at Miami was the 5th latest so hot in the season.
