A friend asked me if it is possible to get a weather forecast for the Christmas week, specially for the north east states. Considering we are talking a month from now, I really don't know the answer. Any help is welcome.

This far out, all you can do is reference climatology and what is 'average'. For the Northeast....it is safe to say a jacket of some sort will be required, layers may come in handy, and shorts and flip flops will be irrelevant.

Are you talking upstate New York, northern new england, or the coastal regions of the megalopolis....that could be the difference between Lake effect blizzards, a white Christmas, and cloudy with temps in the 40s. All in all....not a Chamber of Commerce time of year for the region (having grown up there, i can attest to the 'dreariness' of December in the n.e.....plus the 4:15pm sunsets don't help). Folks are generally fleeing to your latitude in december!

Bottom line....bring a coat!
