I don't know if this is the best place for this, but something REALLY bad happened last night. EPIC FAIL by The Weather Channel. Maybe Jim Cantore and other mets of theirs should bolt to another network? If a High Risk, a PDS Tornado Watch and tornado warnings with strong wording do not bring them into continuous coverage, what does?

I want to apollogize to all of you. I was SEVERELY mislead. Was told we were bagging the "movie" to do what this network was created for.

Very sad that TWC continues on this downward spiral. I won't be surprised if in a few years it goes out of the air.

Generally not a fan of Cantore, but I'm very glad he's done this

Go Cantore, go! But I'm afraid his stating that will lead to him being either reprimanded or fired...

Even if he is, I am sure someone else would pick him up pretty quickly.

There have been instances during the past few hurricane seasons when a storm was approaching landfall somewhere in the u.s., and when i tuned in to see coverage on TWC, they were instead airing a repeat of Storm Stories about Hurricane Fran in 1996 and a flash flood in Las Vegas. Not surprised to hear that they continue to drop the ball.

You got that right!
They mentioned him on the Kentucky Derby today regarding the rain and he had major face time during the Olympics. If I were him, I'd seriously try and bring back the old TWC format with another station. He has recognition, respect and clout now.
WAY TO GO JIM!

Good to see that he said out loud what most of us were already thinking.
It's been sad to watch TWC become "The Whatever Channel".

I wonder what movie it was? I would not be surprised if they start airing non-weather type movies.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105824/""Wind" depicts the struggle between young recreational sailor Will Parker's (Matthew Modine) ambition and his love for Kate Bass (Jennifer Grey) in the context of the America's Cup sailing competition, inspired by the real-life events surrounding the first time the American sailing team lost the America's Cup. Hopefully they stick to covering the flood situation today as well.

On-air met on TWC just said that 'strong northerly winds continue to push the oil spill towards the Louisiana coast."
Interesting that a northerly wind would push oil to the south into the LA coast. Not to mention the area has been seeing southerly winds up to 30 mph all weekend. Another 'oops' moment brought to you by TWC.

That does not really sound like a weather related movie, more like an inspirational movie. The Weather Channel may as well stop airing weather casts and just air movies and TV shows.

They probably read the title and thought it was a weather movie.

And next up on The Weather Channel, it's a stormy situation in "Rain Man"
And of course everyone in tornado alley loves it when they are learning about the O-rings on the Challenger for the thousandth time during a tornado emergency. The Weather-Or-Not? Channel would be a more fitting name.

TWC around here is nothing but a joke. IF I have TV on which is a miracle in itself we use the local Cincy mets and avoid TWC all the way, would hate to interrupt their bid for top ratings for movies. I too have never been a huge fan of Cantore but at least he said what needed to be said for a change...sure a long way from the original weather channel though.

Does this mean TWC will show Olympics in 2012?
