Now if you guys can go from this Monsoon season right into the winter wet/snow season i assume things wont be so bad..............I say that because i assume all this rain could bring back all the vegetation that got zapped in the fires and any return to the drought will increase the chances again for more fires out your way Dennis??????

Well, let's hope so.......everything I've heard and read on this latest increase in moisture, we're suppose to have ABOVE normal precip for the remainder of the monsoons, which BTW, normally ends the 2nd week in Sept...
As far as the fire danger, for all intents and purposes, it's over till next spring, when it drys out in Sept, Oct, the fine fuels moisture content will remain high due to lower temps etc...

NORTHERN ARIZONA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF AZ
245 AM MST SUN AUG 24 2003
.SYNOPSIS...HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED NORTHEAST OF ARIZONA WILL
CONTINUE TO CIRCULATE MOISTURE OVER THE REGION. AFTERNOON AND
EVENING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE EACH DAY THROUGH MID
WEEK.
.DISCUSSION...HIGH PRESSURE REMAINS OVER THE SRN ROCKIES THIS
MORNING AND WILL CONTINUE TO CIRCULATE TROPICAL MOISTURE NORTHWARD
ACROSS AZ. THE HIGH WILL SHIFT A BIT EACH DAY BUT THE BASIC PATTERN
WILL REMAIN THE SAME THROUGH MIDWEEK. EXPECT THE PLUME OF TROPICAL
MOISTURE TO REMAIN OVER AZ TODAY AND TOMORROW BRINGING ANOTHER
CHANCE OF HEAVY RAINFALL. WILL BUMP POPS UP JUST A BIT IN THE
WESTERN ZONES SINCE THIS IS WHERE THE BEST MOISTURE IS LOCATED. BY
MIDWEEK...GFS SHOWS THE RIDGE SHIFTING TO THE EAST AND ALLOWING A
WESTERLY FLOW TO DEVELOP ACROSS THE REGION. THIS SHOULD REDUCE
MOISTURE ACROSS THE REGION AND RESULT IN A LOW GRADE MONSOON
PATTERN... THUS WILL GO WITH LOWER POPS FOR THE EXTENDED.
MAY NEED TO CONSIDER A FFA AGAIN TODAY FOR THE WESTERN ZONES SINCE
SOILS ARE BECOMING QUITE SATURATED WITH THE EXCESSIVE RAINFALL OF
THE PREVIOUS FEW DAYS AND THERE REMAINS THE CHANCES OF LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL IN THIS AREA. DB

I would take that any day. 3 inches of rain in 1 hour. 7 inches in 2 hrs.
