Anniversary of Texas' Deadliest Tornado...

114 people were killed when a terrible tornado roared through Waco, Texas on May 11, 1953.

You can still see the "scar" on the Dr. Pepper museum. The lighter-colored area was the part that had to be rebuilt.

That is really interesting that they did the Dr. Pepper plant like that. Thank God for the huge improvements in warnings from then to now. As horrible as the outbreak was in MS & AL I cannot imagine the toll if something like that happened in the same area now with 1953 radar and other parameters as they were then.
