It was a very beautiful Labor day Weekend and we couldn't have asked for better weather.

We climbed Cloud Peak, one of the highest mountains in Wyoming. It was 10F the morning of September 4, but the weather was great.

Perfect! Transports you to a different time and place just as one should hope.
Lovely, active family. Your children will look back with great appreciation.

I've always wondered something when I see your amazing photos and stories:

How do you get the kids to go hiking without whining? And what kind of shoes do y'all wear that can keep up with so much use?

I guess they don't know anything different since they've been doing it since they were born. See how often we get out:

We also don't have things like TV, which I think helps. :D

The kids have Merrell Chameleon boots (for summer) which last them a couple years each pair. Sorels or Columbias are used in winter. We (the adults) have various boots such as Vasque, Merrell, etc.

So refreshing to see. Definitely a whole world apart from what we are seeing in Texas. Thanks for posting them.
