Forecasters Predict Hot Summer for the US

May 18, 2012 — For most Americans, this summer will be a lot warmer than usual. The forecast from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration calls for above-average temperatures for June through August.

That should be the case for about three-quarters of the United States.

The weather could be especially troublesome for the West due to the prospect for wildfires. Thousands of acres have already been scorched across Arizona and Colorado.

But not everyone will see a hot summer -- in the northwestern US and Alaska, forecasters expect cooler-than-normal temperatures.

The hottest 12-month period on record since records were started in 1895 came from last May through April of this year.

I could post the official link but the text was absent. Its been non-stop heat records of all kinds with previous months and years. For the US and Canada, get ready for more :D . I love the heat and humidity and hope for an extremely hot summer in my neck of the woods. My dream analogue for the five month period starting May until September is 1911.
