A different kind of heat record

We tied are all time record high (for anytime of the year) on July 1, but July 2012 also set a new kind of heat record as well.
Our low for the month was 45F. No other month has had a monthly minimum so warm. Months were the temperature doesn't drop to 40F or below are very rare here and have only happened six times at the airport station.
The previous record for the highest monthly minimum in July was 41F set in 1985, 1998 and 2006. August 1982 only got down to 44F, the previous record holder for the warmest monthly minimum.
We weren't alone. Salt Lake City, for example, never dropped below 63F. This is another warmest monthly minimum. So far only two other months (2006 and 2007) have failed to drop to below 60F.
Other places in the country certainly had similar records as well, but these aren't the kind of records that make the news.
