Grace Spreads Precipitation all the Way into the Midwest

Looks like Grace will affect Labor Day plans all the way up in the midwest. Not an evacuation GFS run like yesterday. But still holding on to the possibility of heavy rain. New ETA going not as strong for the Chicago Metro area, but still strong. This may become a nasty Labor Day for many. This is my kind of Labor Day, though. Heavy rains and something to track. Once new GFS comes out I will post it here.

The GFS and ETA could only agree slightly on one run. Of course now the GFS solution goes south with less precipitation. We'll have to see. The models are going to flip-flop over the next day before what we see whats actually gonna happen ( when it is right over us ). This is really going to mess up my NWS forecast. So we'll have to see.

Here's my personal thoughts:

Sunday: Partly Cloudy, Cool
Sunday Night: Mostly Cloudy
Monday: Showers and Thunderstorms Possible
Monday Night: Showers and Thunderstorms Likely
Tuesday: Showers possible

We'll see what verifies. Hey, I may end up dry, wet, or extremely wet. What a contrast. I will probably bust. But I guess we all bust at some point in life.

Wx forecasting is an inexact science. Even the pros aren't always right. ;)

Now it looks as if we may get rain from late this afternoon all the way to Monday Late Night/Early Tuesday morning.

As of now I am expecting 1-2" of rain with local amounts receiveing up to 3 inches of rain in Northern Indiana.

In Central Indiana, it looks like 2-4" of rain with locally higher amounts.

A wet and stormy Labor Day. Sorry if your plans are ruined....but this is my kind of Labor Day :D

I will give another update later today, probably after 2 P.M.

I'll vouch for the rain, it is chilly here! 63°! I think it feels good after all the heat though, and we really really need the rain we are getting! It is supposed to continue into tomorrow too, looks like a wet Labor Day here, but I don't have any outdoor plans so I'm not mad, thanks Grace!

Well the 16.35 inches of rain in July knocked out chances of deficit drought this year.

Flood Watch update indicates that 2-3 more inches tonight possible, with local areas recieving 4+. Then tomorrows precipitation is yet to be determined.

So far we've received anywhere from .5-1.00...I will check guage later for official amount.

It looks like I may get a good amount of rain :)

Looks like showers and thunderstorms will be quite numerous tomorrow and Tuesday, and a Flood Watch will probably be issued for my area tomorrow morning sometime. ;)

Are you under a flood watch yet, Colin? I looked at the watch/warning map and I happened to notice most of PA under a flood watch.

Well anyway...here is what the latest ETA thinks that the NE can expect :D
