Nobody really wants destructive weather, but which do you think is the better time for it?

During daytime hours, you can generally see the sky and cloud formations in most areas. In many areas though distant visibility is obscured by hills, trees or buildings. Around here, we can't see more than a few miles at most even under the best of conditions. More people are out and about where they may not have access to warnings, but might be closer to mass shelters. More people are awake and in position to observe and react.

During nighttime hours, more people are home and off the roads where they have access to TV, radio, computers and other information device to stay in touch. People are closer to shelter areas they know and have prepared. Visibility is almost non-existent, but radar is just as accurate for those that have access to it. Schools, business, malls and other mass gathering places are generally unoccupied.
