Is This July?

The GFS model has been persistently forecasting a major cool down for the south, with Atlanta forecasted temps 15 or 16 degrees below average. Also check out the extent of the cool air.

For example Charleston, WV forecasted low 44 degrees, average 66. If this forecast comes into fruition it will decimate the old record of 53 degrees. What does everyone think of this? Will it happen? Meteorologically, what is causing this and does this foreshadow the fall/winter pattern?

For me in southern Ontario, this is the worst July in memory. No this is not July, its fail. If you want to know meteorologically why this is happening, check the "Anyone remember the summer of 2004" and "Texas Summer 2014" threads.

You don't see a 90% contour from CPC too often.

I got no problem at all with this for July and August, but I sure hope it kicks back out before Winter. I'm not up for a repeat of last Winter.

Going out cool. Some rain would have been nice.
