Deep South Spring 2015

#1 Postby CYCLONE MIKE » Sat Mar 07, 2015 7:20 am

Well since the winter that never was seems to finally be over, guess we need somewhere to post our spring weather events so we don't flood the Texas thread with our weather going on's. Speaking of flooding, can't believe nobody is talking about the upcoming rains the south could receive next week. Models have been consistent in showing a lot of LA and other other parts of the southern states receiving a lot of rain late Sunday thru next Saturday. Gfs and cmc have been showing a bullseye of 6-8in over SE LA . Of course it comes after all the cold is long gone

Actually, long range models are suggesting that much of the Deep South and Gulf Coast region could get locked into a wet pattern possibly for the next couple of weeks.

I just came in here to see if anyone was mentioning all the rain. I noticed next week from Monday-Thursday we have basically 80% or higher chance of rain. I guess the totals are 6-8 inches? Not too bad over 4-5 days and honestly I don't trust the models very much. Last week they said something similar and we barely got a shower. This pattern is different though and probably much more likely to send lots of rain our way.

El Nino is flexing its muscles the next few weeks and probably this spring. Expect the south to be wet the next few months.
