My goodness, why does it seem just east of DFW the last few years gets the worst of severe weather? Timing I guess. Storms penetrate the most ustable air during the most unstable part of the day, which is usually east Texas this time of year. I remember driving west on HWY 80 through Canton a few years back and witnessing massive destruction to homes, trees, and landscape. Later learned my aunt and uncle's house in DeKalb Texas was destroyed many miles east of where I had driven. Had to sell the entire property as they were retired in North Carolina. Stay safe over there!!!!

It's all about timing. They were starting to spin once they approached the metroplex. The eastern areas are now in it during peak heating.

what was weird today was when it started up in Fort Worth I thought it'd spread east and be a bigger event(granted it was kind of linear but still and even there it was very weak damage), but instead the couplets disappeared even though it was mid afternoon and it was non severe through Dallas and then started flaring up again immediately east, I had started zoning out a bit when the "tornado" was reported in Rockwall tbh. Also on the back edge of these storms while I could hear faint sirens from the Rockwall storm(as I'm not too far from there), the sun was peeking out, it was kind of strange
