ENSO Alert System Status: Final El NiƱo Advisory

ENSO-neutral conditions are present.*

Equatorial sea surface temperatures (SSTs) are above average across the
western and central Pacific Ocean and are below average in the eastern Pacific.
The pattern of anomalous convection and winds are generally consistent with
ENSO-neutral.

ENSO-neutral is most likely to continue through Northern Hemisphere winter
2019-20 (50-55% chance).*

Unfortunately it won't be feeling like fall for quite some time. I don't see any significant cold fronts over the next few days. This horrible hot and dry weather looks to persist. :cry:

Unfortunately we need to survive another week of full summer heat. High's will be in the upper 90s, and little chance of rain till maybe early next week.

As of now Fall looks to be delayed till around mid month. :cry:

Well, at least for NoTx, it appears that the 100s are in the rear view mirror until next May. 95 is still hot, but the mornings and evenings are okay. The days are definitely getting shorter.

Well It appears the Del Rio 100+ streak may have ended. I have two weather stations.... and Ambient weather and an Acurite Atlas, I got 99 and 97 respectively. The NWS is usually about a degree lower. We did get an outflow from a nearby shower and a few more clouds which may have helped. I am tired of this summer

I gave you a shout out in the last post in the summer thread. I know it has been a horrendous summer down there. Let's hope for better things for south central Texas this fall.

NHC giving the disturbance in the GOM a 40% chance..

Code: Select all

2. A broad area of low pressure is located over the south-central
Gulf of Mexico.  This disturbance continues to produce widespread
disorganized showers and a few thunderstorms.  Some gradual
development of this system is possible during the next few days
while it moves slowly westward across the southern and southwestern
Gulf of Mexico toward the coast of Mexico.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

I see that the Gulf system is now 93L. What a damn shame that the Death Ridge is going to shunt this into Mexico. We could have really used it here in oven-baked, drought-parched south central/south Texas. :(

It does seem a little bit farther north than originally thought. We can still hope right?

Ridge of death looks strong on the major models until this coming weekend. :(
