I got my lazy butt outside to put stuff on the lawn after that brief shower cooled it below 80. Didn’t rain much but nice outside.

DFW airport received about ~1" so far. On top of the ~2" that brings the monthly total above the monthly average halfway through the month a little more than 3". Average is 2.18" for August.

Keeping an eye out on Grace...GFS,0zCMC, and some of the ECMWF&GFS Ensembles show the possibility of Grace moving into the western GOM.

Yeah we really need more people from the southern half of this state to join. It’s too DFW oriented. I’m thankful for wxinfinity. North Texas and south Texas are like two different states due to how big Texas is.

Cpv17, I sent you a pm about wxinfinity.

Also, I am hoping that Grace can just bring some rain. My area has not had much rain since July.

A massive system for portions of Austin today. Downtown flooding with 4-5” in 30min. 2.2” officially at Mabry.

Looks like Grace will make a visit to the Western Gulf...6zGFS Ensembles are more concentrated on Tampico Mexico as a final landfall. Looks to me like the Euro has a heavy consensus also around the Tampico area but enough spread to keep a close eye down here in Deep South Texas.

Right. It is looking likely that Grace will not be impacting Texas much now. However, with the strong ridge expected to develop later this week, I believe we may be at risk towards the end of the month and September. Most of this summer has featured occasional troughing, and I would not be surprised to see this return later on.

It is official, the averages are dropping. Doesn't mean a whole lot this time of year because summer is far from over. A mini heat wave is poasible next week (upper 90's) but no 100's in sight. Each front now will be cooler and cooler. Excellent.

I've not reached 100 yet, which is not typical for Oklahoma Summers, the last case was in 2003 . . .

Yep. It is storming outside my home now. Not looking forward to the upcoming mini heat wave. I just hope it stays "mini."

This Modelstorm system on the 18z GFS may be in the long-range, but it's worth watching . . .
