It's a long ways out but...
4/13 has my attention. Stay tuned, we'll see if the models keep it going, they've been pretty consistent so far but it's a long way out.

Allendale, SC is about to take a direct hit from a strong tornado. Another strong tornado on the line in GA right now.

2022 (you can even go back and count the December tornadoes in the Ohio Valley) has seen some pretty distinct tornadoes. Definitely a trend hard to ignore, I hate to compare it to 2011 but there were pretty solid trends that season before the big show late April and May.

Joe B is saying that something really big is coming next week.

Take this forecast as a grain of salt, but April 13th appears to have an extremely high ceiling

Most of the discussion for today's event has been in the Texas thread but since the main show will likely be in other regions I'll go ahead and put it here. Moderate risk is up today for IA, with a tornado outbreak likely.
Image

For tomorrow, a massive 10 hatched tornado area is up, one of the biggest I've ever seen. My guess is that parts of it will be upgraded to moderate at some point. Very dangerous day ahead.

Thanks. Not all of us are in Texas. I am not as weather savvy as the rest of you, but I do appreciate info that may help me make decisions for my family and friends that follow me for weather.

Tomorrow has been upgraded to a moderate risk. The southern part of it is a 15 hatched tornado area.

The SPC Mesoanalysis parameters up in Iowa along and south of the warm front are pretty crazy right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of violent tornadoes in that area if storm interactions allow it.

Just FYI- despite the thread title, you'll find lots of useful discussion there regarding weather events for the central/southern Great Plains in general. :D

Lots of linear mode out there, not as big a day so far as a lot of us thought given what was possible 5-7 days out. I think storm mode is still one factor we just don't have a great grasp on forecasting.

From a tornado perspective, this was by far the least impressive moderate risk of the year so far. From a wind perspective however, the 45 hatched moderate 100% verified. Already over 100 wind reports. Some of those were probably QLCS spin ups so we should see more tornado reports than the 2 we have right now.
