My total rainfall so far is over 3 inches since this morning. (Past 2-3 days now since it started to rain) It's still in the low 50s outside.

Winter 2020-2021 :cold:

All observations are in Tecumseh, OK unless otherwise noted.

Winter posts are focused mainly for Oklahoma & Texas.

Take any of my forecasts with a grain of salt, refer to the NWS, SPC, and NHC for official information

How are the next 2 to 4 weeks looking for Texas? I'm greedy. I want more rain.

The next week or so looks really dry. Not sure after that but my intuition tells me it’ll be hot and dry.

I live right next to the course. Hard to see it from the road but yeah it's definitely an incredible course. I saw the Goodyear Blimp quite a bit. I don't even usually watch golf but I turned it on quite a bit trying to recognize landmarks from the air shots

They got lucky it was last week and not this week I will say that

Agreed. Still feel the cool north breeze even with sunshine. Setting up to be a gorgeous sunset if the clouds can hang on. And then a chilly Thursday morning.

Yep. GFS is very little precipitation for nearly all of Texas (except maybe the Red River/panhandle areas) with it showing 0.5" to nothing for the next 16 days.

Both the EPS and GEFS show decent rains for Eastern New Mexico, the Panhandles, and West Texas over the next 10 days. That will continue to chip away at the drought conditions out there. Then there is always the chance that storms that fire out there build upscale into a MCS and make a run at NTX or Central TX.

2020 and 2021 were the top two wettest Memorial days on record for DFW. This year will be a hot and dry one. To make top 5 it needs 97F, may be a few degrees short. 101F record looks to be safe.

Oklahoma just had a huge improvement in the drought monitor.

Finished with 3.8 inches of rain at the house. Oilton, OK got 7 inches of rain.

It's now sunny outside, I wanted the sunlight for once when the clouds refused to go away!

Next week brings Memorial Day, the start of June, and the beginning of meteorological summer.

When we get to June 1st, we’ll move over to our Texas Summer 2022 thread.

Ensembles next 10 days looks seasonably warm and dry for the population centers of TX. Oklahoma has some rain chances, but for the rest of us, early June not looking too exciting.

This summer does not scream 2010 or 2011. Those years featured much less rain heading into summer. As of right now, I am thinking it is more likely summer will be similar to 1999, 2003, or 2005. Not exactly the best summer pattern, but not the worst either (although 2003 would be better).

Yeah I'm definitely not as concerned as I was but I think hurricane season will play a role. If everything hits Louisiana again we'll get an extended torch but if we can get some moisture into the coast at least big difference

I think Louisiana could be targeted again, but I think Texas could be a target zone too, especially if ENSO shifts to cool neutral during peak season. Ridge placement, as usual, will be the key to who is impacted.
