Southeast Texas could be getting some very healthy rain this week and could take away a lot of the remaining drought. Here is the latest HRRR 18Z

Image

A disturbance is suppose to pass through sometime on Tuesday that could dump 2 to 4 inches if it sets up as the model is showing.

Lots of strong/severe storms Along I-40 from Bridgeport to OKC, and along I-44 from OKC to Bristow.

Yeah still not impressed with this pattern here. It did rain for about 20 minutes earlier but probably didn't even wash my car

The GFS does show some hope in the long range but it's the long range and the GFS has been all over the place

Southeast Texas has been placed under a slight risk for excessive rainfall

The storms collapsed before they got to me last night, my mother told me there was a lot of wind and lightning, but very little rainfall . . . :(

Models cut back on our totals overnight. We’ll see what happens.

I hate to ask for a regional outlook, but what's this weekend looking like in Houston? Seems we were supposed to get rain all weekend, but some models have backed off.

If one believed the GFS modelcanes in the gulf then that was the injection for the higher qpf associated. But as it starts losing it, energy is focused on the open Atlantic and background subsidence will cool off modeled qpf in our region.

That doesn't mean no rainfall though just cutting back.

What’s up with what the NAM is showing? Some low drifting west towards Texas later this week?

That's mostly at the upper levels, some weak upper vorticity. Surface pressures are pretty high relatively for it, just higher resolution on the NAM. There's too much shear in the NW Gulf for anything to form.

Currently at the High School, but it's crashing and banging outside without any rain!

Finally some decent rain here. Hopefully a sign of things to come. Euro and GFS both have a hurricane recurving near Baja around day 10
