Such a sad time of the year when the triple-digit highs are gone. Looks like temps here in Houston reached the lower 70s this morning. I noticed the chill in the air and the north wind when I went out to pickup the paper off the driveway (yes, we still get one delivered).

Yeah, I've heard that the Tonga Eruption may have factored in the exceptionally cold wave that caused snowfall in Brazil! This is the first winter where the full effects from the Tonga Eruption will be in place, with extremely warm subtropics, we may have more powerful Extratropical cyclones, but only time will tell if that is the case.

Sadly, I was supposed to get to 65 this morning, it never got below 71.

It appears to be a steady climb instead of spiking.

KFOR is teasing us in the long range! But it seems legitimate because it's during the State Fair! :D

It often seems September gives us one last bout of summer more often than not. Heck, it's often still hot in Kansas until mid-September.

I'm not going to be upset unless October is hot. At least no 100s it appears.

Ensembles are not pretty. Ridge centered over Southern Plains medium range. May not be until end of the month for relief if it comes.

Rainfall blanks. 2022 theme dry stretches far outlast wet ones.

Hot weather in September is more tolerable when the Cowboys field a good team. So maybe next year. :x

Some models have been decently consistent on a cold front around 180-240 hours out. Temperatures are still changing around but the coldest i've seen so far is the CMC

This sucks! Also came to find out that my water utility said there is a leak in the water pipe (raw water) for the system. They said to reduce pressure on the system while repairs are being made, all outdoor sprinkler systems and hose end sprinklers are banned until October 4th, when they expect it to be fixed. I only know about it through a website when I looked up a number for the city.

Not sure who else got the memo here(?). They haven't done any outreach except through the web that I know of. People still using sprinkler systems right now. I don't think everyone knows. Maybe cops will be going around checking yards to see who's in compliance(?).lol We are allowed to hand water though.

My yard still looks lush and green from the recent rains, but with this forecast, I may be out hand watering before long just to keep stuff alive.lol Usually September is 2nd wettest month. Not the last half. Perfect timing for a water system leak (sarcasm). Of course the leak/watering ban couldn't happen in the the last half of August with the daily rains.lol

I'll wait until the yard looks dire and thirsty. It got a nice drink last month from the heavens, so should be ok. But lower humidity and 90s dries things out pretty quickly.
