Someone in our Storm2K family (cheezyWXguy) asked recently if it was fall yet? No, but after the summer solstice the other day, meteorological fall is now less than 90 days away and is the next season on the annual tour of the calendar!

Bring on north winds, cooler temperatures and those beautiful fall colors. And plenty of football, Halloween and Thanksgiving too!!!! :D

Kinda interesting to see how the early morning lows are dropping up in the northern plains already.

Isn’t this a La Niña fall?

Will the former Typhoon Ampil dislodge some cooler air and help us out in the long term? :?: :?:

Perhaps something to discuss is how the disturbed weather/typhoon activity has dramatically cooled the waters in the east of Japan which has been way above normal for a long time now. It is quite possible this changes the dynamics of how the PDO has effected us the past several years.

Happy September everyone! We did it. Summer is just about over and soon evidence of autumn will appear. Less humid afternoons, cool evenings, crisp mornings, Halloween decorations, and most importantly, football season. My priorities are simple . Enjoy the best time of year!

Looks like some real rain is slicing through Dallas county ATM. Big fat drops at my house. Nothing heavy.

I dunno if I would consider this a cold front but there was at least a decent drop in the humidity before sunset setting up one of the nicest Labor Day's we've had in awhile

It has still been as hot as 109 this weekend before

1.33" IMBY - North Dallas near NorthPark Center. A couple of pretty decent bursts with rainfall rates near 2"/hr. Grateful for every drop!

The west is having all the rain fun again. Probably for the best, it's grill time this evening with steaks, potatoes, and corn, and most importantly, Shiner Bock. Enjoy the holiday everyone.

Despite the extensive cloud cover, DFW still managed to overachieve and eek out an intra-hour high of 90°F.

Got another 0.47" on Sunday with some passing spotty showers. Ended up with almost 1.5" with this rain event being mostly over for my area it seems.

Forecast highs in the 80s for the first week in September. Very nice.
