Weird how if you look closely, you can see the flames on that pic. :o The smoke, after clearing up a bit nicely yesterday, came back again today.

Joshua, the flames are showing up as "hot" spots (AVHRR derived) and clearly defined, so yes, in a way, you can literally see the fires in that satellite shot.

Ah I see; well of course it's hard to tell from the pic being from so far up in outer space.
