THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

...STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ALONG WITH LOCALLY
HEAVY RAINFALL LATE SUNDAY THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT...

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE ACROSS THE AREA
TONIGHT THOUGH AREAS MAINLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 10 SHOULD
EXPERIENCE GREATER COVERAGE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE STRONG TONIGHT ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS. IT DOES NOT
APPEAR THAT THEY WILL REACH SEVERE LEVELS. THEREFORE...HAZARDOUS
WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. A SLOW MOVING
STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH SOUTHEAST TEXAS FROM THE WEST ON SUNDAY
AND MOVE ACROSS THE AREA MONDAY NIGHT. BECAUSE OF ABUNDANT MOISTURE
COUPLED WITH A VIGOROUS UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE...LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL WILL BE A POSSIBILITY ON SUNDAY AND MORE LIKELY ON MONDAY AND
MONDAY NIGHT. ISOLATED RAINFALL ACCUMULATIONS FOR THE PERIOD SUNDAY
THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT MAY REACH 3 INCHES.

VERY STRONG WINDS WILL BE PRESENT IN THE ATMOSPHERE OVER SOUTHEAST
TEXAS MONDAY. TURNING OF THE WINDS WITH HEIGHT AND INCREASING
INSTABILITY IN THE ATMOSPHERE MAY PRODUCE ISOLATED SUPERCELL
THUNDERSTORMS AHEAD OF THE MAIN BAND OF STORMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE
FRONT. CURRENT COMPUTER MODELS INDICATE THE POSSIBILITY FOR ISOLATED
TORNADOES TO OCCUR MONDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE MONDAY EVENING. THIS
THREAT WILL LIKELY BE AREAWIDE.

Just looked at the Hou/Gal radar and there is a nice line just north of the area ... be watchful right now anyone in that area! :o

That line has moved through and most of it stayed N of Interstate 10. I live just 2 miles North of it. We got some torrential rain for a little while but it has quit for now. Not looking forward to tomorrow though. We'll keep you posted from here as much as possible.

We had some really good thunderstorms this morning...loud thunder woke me between 6 and 7am and they lasted for several hours. Right now, everything is out to my west and north.

Just checked the rain gauge...3.25 inches at my house so far.

I hope we can get in on some of the action tomorrow, it's bone dry around here. Stay safe Texans!

Its been awhile since we had a heavy rain and severe weather event...Oct 26-27th.

I remeber driving through Orange on the way to New Orleans.....lakes surrounding homes.

Tomorrow stands out as a widespread straight line wind day.

I feel Monday night will be very rough

I can't remember the last time we had a real squall line roll through this area . I'm getting concerned about Monday night as well.

NOt looking good for us in SE TX today and for those to our E and NE it looks like it could get even rougher. The lastest from NWS Hou/GAl:

...A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS THROUGH TONIGHT...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LEAGUE CITY HAS EXTENDED THE FLOOD
WATCH THROUGH TONIGHT FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS.

HEAVY RAINS FELL OVER PORTIONS OF THE AREA YESTERDAY. A LARGE
PORTION OF AREA SAW RAIN WITH ACCUMULATIONS RANGING FROM ONE
TENTH OF AN INCH TO AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 5 INCHES IN ISOLATED
AREAS.

NUMEROUS INGREDIENTS ARE COMING TOGETHER FOR A FLOOD THREAT ACROSS
SOUTHEAST TEXAS TODAY AND TONIGHT. A SLOW MOVING VIGOROUS UPPER LEVEL
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE...A STRONG SUBTROPICAL JETSTREAM...DEEP
TROPICAL MOISTURE AND STRONG WINDS IN THE LOWER ATMOSPHERE AND FINALLY
A COLD FRONT SHOULD COMBINE TO PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL. FAST MOVING
STORMS THAT WILL REPEATEDLY PASS OVER THE SAME AREAS ARE EXPECTED
TO PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL TODAY. A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS IS LIKELY TO
ACCOMPANY THE COLD FRONT TONIGHT AND THIS FEATURE WILL BRING ANOTHER
ROUND OF HEAVY RAINFALL. THE HEAVY RAINFALL THREAT SHOULD END EARLY
TUESDAY MORNING.

AVERAGE RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF
6 TO 8 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE.

I edited a little off the bottom. We only got .64 at my house yesterday, but I think it will be a good deal more today and a lot rougher all over the metro area. Yesterday's was more of an event to our NE where some isolated 9" totals were noted about 30 miles NE of downtown.

Current LR radar shows a large area of rain and storms moving our way and expanding S as it moves NE.

Ugh, well that was fun to drive through last night. Came back from a wedding in Dallas. It was predicted to rain up in DFW but, luckily, it didn't happen during the wedding.

Well, I will have the message board up all day in my classroom. I just love being in a metal portable building in severe weather...I could bring my own munchkins to Oz...hehehheh

Check that radar link I posted often Garnet! It is already moving in and building. Probably be in your area by 10am at the latest. I'll update later as it unfolds and as I get a chance to sneak away from the task at hand.hehehe

Tornado Warning in Wharton Country...a strong storm there....

Thanks for the warning Garnet. It hasn't come thru on my weatherbug yet!! I know the rough stuff has reached you by now cause we are having the rumble and tumble here in W Houston at I10 and Hwy 6. We're in a break rifht now but it looks like you are getting ready to send us some rough stuff. Stay safe!!
