At the end of last October our office got flooded out with 3 feet of water. Everthing was ruined. We still haven't recovered 100% from that one. Well we got it again!!! 7 inches of water and thankfully not near the damage as last time but still alot to be done. I've been sweeping water out of the building all morning and I'm fixing to jump on the wet vac. It looks like the bottom 6 to 8 inches of the wall will have to be replaced. Sheetrock soaks water up like a sponge.
I'm up here off of West Hardy Rd. and the Beltway 8 area. Greens Bayou got us again. Anyone else get flooded out?

Dang Johnny...so sorry to hear that!! Rough day/night for SE Texas! I hope the cleanup goes quickly for you.

Ugh, I feel awful for you, Johnny.

They were saying on the news that the Hardy Toll Road was still flooded this morning. Poor drainage, I guess?

Wow Johnny that's a bummer twice in less than two months. Glad to hear you are okay though. Greens Bayou has gotten bad in the last several years.

Johnny - that stinks. I hope this situation never occurs again. Although it probably will at some point.

I was fortunatel My repairs while I was repainting the house seem to have worked. Considering the deluge we had yesterday-7.31" here at the house- we should have gotten water in the house again and didn't. I opened up a portion of the fence to allow better drainage and literally sealed the lowest portion where the foundation and boards meet with caulk and an 8" strip of tin. I did it to keep out bugs too. Seems to have helped. I'm presuming you work for the FAA Johnny since they got flooded in October too. I would think they would have done something along the lines of what was done with the Med center and downtown tunnels after Allison.

vbhoutex, I actually help run a personal service/small business. I help find people jobs mainly in the industrial field such as electricians, welders, machinist, wiremen and everything inbetween. We actually put all kinds of people to work. I work in a business strip just South of Greens Bayou. We moved down this way becuase the building that we are in has more space which we needed to open up a shop out back to do some assembly work. We weren't even in here for a week when we got 3 feet of water in here in October of 2002. I've got workers in here right now sucking up water out of the carpet and gutting the bottom of our walls. Our lease will be up soon and we are getting the heck out of here. 2 times within one year is not a good percentage.LOL
