Lightning detection.

Sorry guys was not too sure where to post this but what is the best solution for my own lightning detection? Obviously I do not want to spend a fortune but can anyone recommend any decent sites where I can find equipement? Mods - if I posted this in the wrong forum feel free to move this post!!!

AM radio---works great-cheap too--- I used to turn mine to an off station and listen for the static--the more frequent/louder the crackles the closer and more intense the storm....

Oh, I remember those days of turning on the AM radio to get the news & weather plus hear the static and cracks during severe weather, and I still do it!
