I'm also taking Basic, but I'm going to take Advanced as soon as I can after that.

I am going to the Basic class on 3/8. NWS Pittsburgh mentioned in their newsletter that they might be offering an advanced class and I will be going to that one when it is offered. This will be my 6 or 7th year in Skywarn.

I went to two Basics, last year. My nephew is
wanting to go to one, so, I'll probably end up
to a class with him, this year, as well.

I would love to, but in trying to get this bakery certified organic and getting more stores to buy it, in addition to finishing the construction in my spare time, with 4 kids and a wife, I don't see it this year.

Suzi Q and I took the Basic Spotters course a couple of weeks ago here in Houston. I know I will do my best to be there is they offer an advanced one. They did hand out an advanced booklet at this one and did talk about some of the things in it, so maybe we took a combined class.

As a NWS employee, I can say that a lot of the offices have started combining the basic and advanced storm spotter classes into one. Actually, I just got back from a spotter class this evening and the people that attended actually enjoyed the new combined class.
I am sure there are plenty of offices out there that still do the seperate basic and advanced classes. If you have questions about it, your local WCM (Warning Coordinating Meteorologist) will be able to help you out.
