2004 spring outlook from NOAA shows a normal one

Nothing very unusual expected this spring in the US as long as the neutral conditions at the equatorial pacific continue for the next few months with no el nino or la nina in the near future.

Thanks Luis. I heard that on Bobs show too. It will be interesting to see what conditions come into play with year without a La Nina or El Nino...

Yes in terms of the hurricane season it will be interesting to see if changes from neutral come and affect the ladder part of the season.

Time will tell. I also find the SST conditions interesting as well. Maybe we should start another thread in HH :lol: We are off topic a bit :P

With a giant western ridge that has persisted for better than two weeks and completely prevented storm systems from reaching the southern US as they typically do between March and April, this spring has been anything BUT normal so far.

That is for sure! If my memory serves me right, there might have been one or two severe weather episodes over the southern plains thus far. I hope this spring does not go the way of '02 and '03, where even rain showers were a commodity.
