You're misreading the color scale.

OK, then 3-4", but still, that's a lot of rain.

We're forcasted to have rain here through at least Tuesday, with potential thunderstorms. Fox News Weather last night discussed the possibility of 2 - 4 inches of rain.

Rain was expected today..but reality will be nearly nothing. All I got was some rain earlier (around 5-7 AM), but that should be about it...with some more rain moving in tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night. Right now, I'm thinking generally .5-1.5" ... maybe more if convection develops. Not the rain producer I thought it was going to be.

Again, that boils down to the tremendous MCS down in the GOM right now. And again, the GFS performs poorly with convective feedback issues ... the MCS down in the GOM is currently robbing a lot of the moisture from surging northward and is focused heavily this morning and early afternoon down there.
