PARTICULARLY OVER AREAS WEST OF THE RIM. ON SATURDAY THE TROF WITH
ASSOCIATED VIGOROUS COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE STATE. SCATTERED
SHOWERS A GOOD POSSIBILITY WITH THE FRONT...MAINLY FOR THE WESTERN
HALF OF THE CWA. SNOW LEVELS FALL TO NEAR 6000 FT BY SATURDAY NIGHT.
MOS GUIDANCE INDICATES SATURDAY WILL BE A VERY WINDY DAY. LIKELY TO
SEE GUSTS APPROACH 50 MPH. MUCH COOLER TEMPS EXPECTED ON SATURDAY
WITH A SLIGHT WARM UP FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY.


take note of the second to the last sentence, "50 MPH GUSTS!"

"LOL!" Yup....this is true! I could live full time in Adak, Alaska, (aka) "Birth Place of the Winds!" I have NEVER seen such a windy place in ALL my life, "sustained winds of 40 MPH" everyday, with constant gusts to OVER 65 mph EVERY, SINGLE day! Seems the Northern Branch of the Jetstream originates somewhere just east of Adak (or at least that's what the brochure told us upon arrivial for duty)......you were only allowed an 11 month tour of duty there due to isolation, weather conditions etc. Now THAT my friends, is one place I NEVER care to see/visit as long as I live, once in a lifetime is ENOUGH!

The latest model runs suggest that it could definitely be a bit on the breezy side for you with H5 winds of 70-80kt and over 50kt at H7 you could be seeing gusts over 60mph tomorrow. The only ointment fly will be how much cloud cover will we get though in terrain like yours there are other factors that will be operating to up the winds.
