Alot of storms in the Gulf...kinda hoped it would rain today...but it looks like tomorrow is a great chance.

Chances of showers and thunderstorms exist this evening as well as tomorrow with the cold front. Cooler, drier air is expected Wednesday onward.

I had some activity yesterday and I posted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and a Flash Flood Warning that were issued for my general area, early this morning (after midnight).
Severe weather warnings opposed to Severe weather watches are issued across Florida nearly on a daily basis from late May to mid October [our wet season]. I don't believe there has been even three Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Watches issued between these approximately 19 weeks since I moved here in June 2000.
I had some activity yesterday and I posted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and a Flash Flood Warning that were issued for my general area, early this morning (after midnight).

On the coast we rarely see severe weather. Last night was the worst I have seen in a long time. The inland areas get the brunt of the storms due to the seasbreeze collision. If the eastlies prevail and push the activity back to the west then we get some action or If the seabreeze is pinned on the west coast

That isn't the case with cold fronts, is it Johnathan? Perhaps the front moving toward and us will give the Port Richey area some interesting thunderstorms.
This frontal system was expected to move through the peninsula late Monday-early Tuesday and even weaken as it does so (after mention of it moving through about a week before now). Then, the Melbourne NWS [who mentioned the above] said that the boundary should move through more of Florida, but stall from the Bahamas and across southern portion of the state.
