Definitely Getting Dark Here (UPDATED with PICS!)

After a hot, humid day here in Eastern Nebraska, severe storms have developed in the last few hours to the northwest of the Omaha metro area. Now, they are beginning to reach the extreme northern and northwest sections of the greater metro area.
A couple tornado warning are out for Colfax and Butler counties until well into the 8:00 pm cst hour, with severe thunderstorm warnings for Washington County.
SPC will most likely re-issue a weather watch for our area when the current expire by 9pm central.
Positive is that it is getting a little cooler.

What a beautiful lightning display around 8:30-9pm towards the NW-N of the area. I drove up to Elkhorn to just sit and watch.

My brother just purchased a digital camera last week. With one of this friends, he went to snap a few shots. Also, his camera has video capability (in a digital form), so he shot some video of the display.
It has been a while since I have seen that type of lightning display around here since last summer.

If possible, can you post some of the lightning pics on the site? Thanks

I'd love to!

However, unless I am mistaken, the message board can only display pictures that are on the Internet. The pics are on my local drive.

Why don't you join a pic hosting site such as
http://www.photobucket.com ? Then you can upload zillions of pics (it's free and you get 100MB of storage space!)

ok, Brian's bro (Aaron) here. My friend and I drove up towards elkorn, not quite that far, but somewhere along maple west of 156th... we sat in a parking lot and decided to take pics.. only a couple lucky shots.. unfortunately cameras don't take pictures the instant you press the button

(2 second delay it seems like)
Other than that, I see more lightning/storms coming in as we speak.

You don't want to use Imagestation, the pics will stop working later. They have stopped allowing hotlinking after a certain amount of time. That's why I use Photobucket now.
BTW: Those are some dramatic shots!

You all did a GREAT job!

Thanks, the people who live east of the Rockies are certainly lucky in respect to being able to get shots of lightning. For us on the immediate west coast seeing thunderstorms is pretty rare. So thanks again. The pictures are dramatic.
I appreciate it Brian and Aaron.
