Tornado Warning:
Issued at: 7:53 PM CDT 5/12/04, expires at: 8:30 PM CDT 5/12/04
The NWS in new orleans has issued a
tornado warning for: orleans parish in southeast louisiana this includes the city of new orleans plaquemines parish in southeast louisiana this includes the city of belle chasse st. Bernard parish in southeast louisiana this includes the city of chalmette
Until 830 pm cdt
At 748 pm cdt, national weather service doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado over new orleans moving southeast at 25 mph. Wind gusts of 63 mph was reported as this storm passed armstrong international airport around 724 pm.
Seek shelter on the lowest floor of a building in an interior hallway or room such as a closet or bathroom.
Report severe weather to the nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the national weather service forecast office.
