Received from IslandWX email:

NOTE: The leading edge of a line of intense thunderstorms extends from Lufkin to Coldspring to Conroe to Waller and is moving steadily southward toward the Houston/Galveston Metropolitan Area. These storms will likely produce strong gusty winds...hail and very heavy rainfall with possible funnel clouds and tornadoes. The line should arrive in Downtown Houston by 2:00 PM CDT and Galveston Island by 4:00 PM CDT.

A Tornado Watch has just been issued by the Storm Prediction Center for all of the Houston/Galveston Area until 6:00 PM CDT and a Flood Watch is also in effect until Midnight CDT tonight for all of Southeast Texas.

It is currently moving into the Northern burbs of Houston and steadily marching south. Already a tornado warning out of it. This is round 2 and we are told to expect up to 10" of rain in the next day and a half!!!!   We're already saturated here in Houston.

They just issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Tyler and Hardin counties. It's looking mean on radar, wish my NWS radar was working.

Ick!

I'll take it all as long as it's clear for Memorial Day weekend (my best friend's wedding).

My NWS radars aren't loading either. Is the site just busy or what?

I think they may be too busy because I get an occasional glimpse. But I haven't been able to use it for the last 30 minutes or so. The situation has stabillized considerably, at least for now, in W. Houston where I am. It looked like all heck was coming but it didn't materialize at my location. With 6" of rain for the month already we really don't need any more like we had the other day and they are saying this could get worse than that!!

Still not out of the woods, to say the least, with an active sea breeze and more disturbances coming in from the West!!!

David, it worked for me on still images but the loops aren't working. I gotta have my loops! :)

Wowzers....it's getting very dark here and the wind is picking up considerably.

Do you have a surge protector, Kelly? Keep your computer safe! My old one got zapped by a bad storm on the Sunday before Allison.

Yeah, mine got zapped during Allison too, but yes, I have a surge protector now. It BETTER work! It's POURING here and thundering like crazy.

2.04" rain rates here for quite a while. It's down to 1.56" currently. My yard is a lake.

Ok, I be drowning here. I'd love to tell you what the rain gauge says but I'd have to put on my hip waders to get to it. VIVID lighting and thunder. It is raining cats and dogs here and has been for the past hour. From what I've read, I got more to look forward to since I gotta drive to Dallas tomorrow.

SUCH FUN.

Yep you had/have a strong cell parked right over your area. I noticed that on the radar. I had visions of you wading out to the pond and herding the fish!!!!

Tell my daughter hi when you get to Big D!! she is in Garland till Monday.

Will do!

Going to take my best friend to get her wedding gown fitted and then we'll probably watch Must See TV at her place. I'll try to check in after 10. :)

Looks like SE Texas will be dealing with storms for a while as they continue to build south west of Houston. Get the boats out! Mine is still ready to go from yesterday  .
