Well rain has just pushed our memorial day activities inside. It's pouring outside! I storm has developed right over Lafayette. I see that severe t-storm watches have been issued to the NW of me in Texas. Hopefully we won't see anything severe this evening.
By the way, this is our first rain in 13 days but the first half of the month was extremely wet with 15-20" of rain falling!

Sorry it rained on your activities, but the ground was probably needing a little drink.

It's no problem I was expecting it actually. The rain is picking up again though now with lots of cloud to ground lightning. This storm could become borderline severe. Also a tornado watch has just been issued to my west in east Texas.

We received some rain finally this afternoon. Nothing severe but it poured. I still want more.

Its also good to see portions of the northern Florida Peninsula getting in on some of the convection this afternoon after weeks w/o rain. If my memory serves me correctly, JAX was running a 20+ day streak w/ NO measurable rain.

We are up to 1 MONTH here with no measurable rainfall. Places within just miles away got over an inch Monday morning while I got only a trace. Awfully disappointing after staying up all night long watching the radar.
