This is VERY interesting, I sat here this morning, figured up my stats to date, it's has been, without a doubt, the COLDEST, the WINDEST (if that's a word LOL!) year on record so far These stats are from 1 Jan to present, 5 July.

Avg. Max. high: 78° (3° below normal)
Avg Low: 37° (12° BELOW normal)
Avg Wind Speed: 17.8 mph (winds started 26 March and haven't quit YET!)
Avg Wind Gust: 38.3 mph
Rainfall to date: 4.35" (5.75" BELOW normal....this included snow melt off)

Hmmmm, interesting-you have less rain YTD than I do at 4500'. My YTD is 5.43in which is 1.11 above normal thanks to the good rains in January, March and April.

YUP...I double checked it and that's what I've got/had! Like I've said in the past, this "IS" the driest year thus far, that I have EVER seen up here in the mountains...everything is BROWN, even the Ponderosa Pines are turning brown. OH...BTW, the Live Fuel Moisture content is NOW down to 9.75%, kiln dry lumber at Home Depot, Lowes, FATCO etc is at 10% moisture content, like the article that I posted a few weeks back said, "The trees for all intents and purposes are dead, they just don't know it yet!"
