Storms have turned deadly today as 2 people have been struck by Lightning... One man was struck in St Johns county and another in Manatee County. Nasty storms moved through My area a little earlier with some hail and wind damage reports---them storms are now SW of me with New storms firing near Camden Co, Ga moving south and southwest as well--so guess I'll be seeing some more action. Odd direction of movement to the storms also IMHO.

Jax Forecast...
Remainder of this afternoon. Mostly cloudy with numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some storms may produce strong winds and heavy rain. Tonight. Mostly cloudy with numerous evening showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rain. Some storms may produce strong winds. Showers tapering off late this evening. Lows in the lower 70s. Northwest winds 5 mph in the evening becoming light. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Here are a few of the reports so far from Round1.

Starting to get dark here...and hearing thunder. Looks like it will move to the west coast today. I'll definitely take it.

WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA - RUSKIN FL
833 PM EDT SUN JUL 11 2004

.DISCUSSION...WILL KEEP SHORT AS WILL BE BUSY VERIFYING NUMEROUS
WARNINGS THIS EVENING. UPPER LEVEL VORTMAX CAME ACROSS THE AREA THIS
AFTN...AND COMBINED WITH ABOVE NORMAL SFC HEATING TO CREATE NMRS
TSTMS ACROSS AREA. SEVERAL STORMS HAD OUTFLOW BNDIES SHOOT OUT OF
THEM AND CARRY STRONG WINDS ACROSS LARGE AREAS. ALSO HAD SOME HAIL...
BUT SO FAR LARGEST REPORTED HAIL WAS 1 INCH IN DIAMETER.

EXPECT ANVIL RAIN TO CONTINUE FOR THE REST OF THE EVENING...
ESPECIALLY SOUTH OF KTPA...WHICH MANAGED TO MISS THE RAIN AGAIN.
WILL UPDATE ZONES TO ACCOUNT FOR LATER RAIN TONIGHT DOWN SOUTH...
OTHERWISE NO CHANGES PLANNED.

&&

.MARINE...SOME STRONG THUNDERSTORMS PUSHED OFFSHORE...ESPECIALLY IN
THE FORT MYERS AREA AND OFF THE NATURE COAST. GENERAL FLOW IS FAIRLY
WEAK...SO MUST CONTINUE TO KEEP WATCH FOR ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT
DEVELOP OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.

&&

.TBW WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES...NONE.

It's been storming here in the panhandle since about 1000 CST. Our rain gauge says 2.0 inches. Lightning galore and not one storm watch or warning. Weird. Maybe those folks over in Mobile are asleep!
