Furthermore, continued into the NW flow (ridge riding) around the northern end of the upper level ridge continues a threat of severe weather, and with very intense SFC heating, thunderstorms will contain significant and excessive CG lightning, the likelihood of very strong downburst winds, and potential for large hail (should the FRZ level/lapse rates are low/steep enough to overcome the hot SFC temperatures)..

Our local met said that Wednesday will be the best shot of severe weather we have had all summer. I hope it rains before our heat index reaches 100-105!

Are you kidding. 12z 7/12 ETA's 850 temps are over +20 DEG C by 21z WED. Low level Thicknesses are VERY warm also. near 1440 meters. That would support a high of 94F alone NOT taking into consideration other factors.

The downsloping flow will push that up further via. compressional warming.

As far as severe weather goes, 500H temps aren't that cool only -6 to -8 DEG C over SC which would not lead to very steep lapse rates. freezing and Wetbulb zero heights are progged to be pretty high also.

CAPE/Instability won't be lacking through w/ values over 2500 j/kg and the best deep layer shear thru the lowet 6 KM appears to be further north of the area INVOF the 45-55 KT mid level jet rounding the base of the 500H trough over Ontario.

Could be nasty in the ERN OH valley, and Mid Atlantic WED.

And man, it is still miserably warm at 11:00 pm here in Ladson ... (yes, I just got home around 10:50 pm tonight) ... (87º, heat index-95º) ... miserable...
