EDMONTON -- Damage was estimated in the tens of millions of dollars yesterday, the day after a severe hailstorm flooded hundreds of homes and parts of Canada's largest shopping complex -- West Edmonton Mall. Under a bright blue sky, the cleanup continued throughout the city in the wake of a deluge that swamped roads, basements and cars with as much as 150 millimetres of rain.

Environment Canada officials called it "a one-in-200-year storm."

This is the worlds largest mall, (sorry Mall of the Americas) This storm dumped 6 inches and we just don't get rain like that in Alberta. Lot's of basements flooded, streets flooded and hail damage. No loss of life, unlike the Edmonton tornado in 88 (F4).

Not to mention the tornado in Grand Prairie just a couple of days before on the 9th.
