Woodford County Illinois Tornado Could Be An F4

They are going to have to bring in experts for this one. It was reported to be from 1/4-1/2 mile at times!!

No problem. It will be interesting to see what they conclude.

Correct me if I am wrong: Has the U.S. had any F5's this year?

I'm pretty sure we haven't. Last one was May 3, 1999 in Moore, OK I believe.

Brent's right, according to the statistics I scanned through at SPC ... (at least the killer tornadoes) ... the last TWO F5's occurred on May 3rd, 1999 (that were killer tornadoes) at Moore and Amber, OK.

Wasn't the Amber, OK Tornado the one that was 2 miles wide at one time?

This definately could have been much worse in Illinois. We can be thankful the storm merged into a developing Derecho before coming here to Johnson County. I can only image what kind of damage that would have caused in the Indianapolis area.
