Hope this is not too off topic, but I will give it a shot. My sister is here in PA visiting from Florida. She lives in Casselberry. On July 4’Th she had a bunch of friends over and they where sitting outside and there where the sounds of July 4’Th fireworks in the air. About 8:30 pm everybody saw the sky light up extremely bright and suddenly there was an explosion so loud and intense it shook her windows and shook the ground. She ran inside and called 911 to report it. Everyone there was scared. The 911 operator said they did not receive any reports, but while she was on the phone, the operator said the lines where starting to light up with calls about it. The operator said they would send the police to her house, but they never showed up. When was the last time you called 911 and they never came. Anyway, the next day the folks at the 7-11 in Deer run said they heard it was a meteor and other folks started saying they saw it. My mom and brother heard a brief report about it on the radio saying it was a meteor. There was never any official report about.

Does anyone know anything about what happened in Central Florida (Winter Springs, Casselberry area) on July 4'th 2004 @ 8:30 pm est.?

myred moved your thread to this off-topic forum as it is the best one for that kind of theme.

Cycloneye,
WESH TV says the Casselberry police is blaming it on a weather related event. See the artical from above. If a lightning strike powerfull enough to rattle two or three towns in Central Florida is not weather related, then what is?

I have to say, a LOT of that goes on here in Florida. When you see or hear something strange, you never hear about the cause or result. I remember one night being on Cocoa Beach. It was around 3 a.m. and a very dark night. I saw a hugh triangular UFO (for lack of a better term) that made NO SOUND what so ever. It was flying low, maybe 15 stories above the surf. The people with me saw it too. We called 911. There was never any press on it (although the people in town were talking wildly about it the next day at the coffee shop and the supermarket). We get weird sonic booms...nothing. Never find out a thing except "we don't know..." AND that is what they are saying about 7/4/04 in Casselberry.
