I was reading through the discussion from early this morning and it said something that I don't quite understand. Can someone help me out here? Thanks.

EXTENDED...FAVOR THE ECMWF SOLN WHICH IMPLIES A WARMER AND DRIER
FORECAST THAN THE GFS BEYOND TUE. AS THE TROF DEEPENS OVER THE
WEST...WE ARE LIKELY TO SEE A STRONG DOWNSTREAM RIDE CENTERED OVER
THE SE U.S. WITH SE TX ON THE PERIPHERY OF THE RIDGE.

I believe they are talking about the jet, since it is forecasted to make a huge trough out west.

Which in return means more rain chances?

Not necisarily, as you see in that discussion the NWS there likes the ECMWF model instead of the GFS model. They believe that it will be the warmer, drier of the two. That is not saying you won't have rain. But just keep reading some of the discusstions, and the forecasts and the NWS will usually tell you what they are thinking.
